Who we are

What we collect

Account and business information

When you create an account on the MinimalPOS application, or submit the demo or activation-key form on this site, we collect the details you enter — typically a name, business name, email address, phone number and country. We use these to create your account, issue an activation key, and respond to you.

Operational data you enter into the product

The cloud restaurant POS stores the data your business creates while using it: menu items, orders, tables, customer records, staff accounts and reports. This data belongs to your business. Each business is kept in its own tenant and is not shared with other businesses.

Payments

One-time retail licences are paid through PayPal. Card and PayPal account credentials are entered on PayPal's systems and are never transmitted to or stored by us. We retain the order reference and status so we can issue and support your licence.

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are used and how people arrive. It sets cookies and records information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type and referring site. We use it in aggregate; we do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Approximate location, for currency

The free tools show amounts in a sensible default currency. To pick one, this site performs a one-off country lookup on your IP address through a third-party service, and caches the result in your browser. The lookup returns a country only. You can change the currency in any tool at any time, and doing so overrides the detected value.

The free tools run in your browser

The invoice generator, payslip generator, menu generator, receipt generator, QR and calculator tools all run locally in your browser. Business details, logos, line items, saved templates and generated history are held in your browser's own storage on your device. That content is not uploaded to us, and clearing your browser data deletes it. The tools require no account.

The retail desktop app

The offline-first retail POS keeps your billing and inventory data in local storage on the machine it is installed on, so it keeps working without a connection. Where cloud backup is enabled, backups are encrypted in transit and at rest.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of processors to run the service: PayPal for payments, Google Analytics for site analytics, an IP geolocation provider for currency detection, and our hosting and email providers. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.

How long we keep it

Account and business data is retained for as long as your account is active. Payment and licence records are kept as long as we are required to for accounting purposes. Lead and demo-request details are kept while we are in contact with you and for a reasonable follow-up period after.

Your choices

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
• Ask us to export your business's operational data, or to close your account and remove it.
• Block analytics cookies in your browser, or use a browser do-not-track / tracking-protection setting.
• Use the free tools without an account, and clear their stored data yourself at any time by clearing site data for this domain.

Children

MinimalPOS is business software and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be communicated to account holders by email.
