DuitNow QR is Malaysia's interoperable QR payment standard, operated by PayNet. One code accepts any Malaysian bank app or e-wallet, so a merchant does not need a separate QR per wallet.
Adoption is now the norm rather than the exception in Malaysian F&B. DuitNow QR transaction volume more than doubled in 2025 to three billion transactions, with 681,250 new acceptance points added.
A merchant QR is issued by a participating bank or acquirer when they register you with PayNet — it carries an Acquirer ID and cannot be self-generated from your business details the way a PromptPay QR can.
