Also called QR menu, Scan to order
QR ordering lets guests scan a code at the table to browse the menu and place an order themselves. The order joins the same kitchen queue as one entered by staff.
The operational gain is not really about saving labour — it is that ordering stops being rate-limited by a server reaching the table. For a venue with a seated area and a small floor team, that is significant.
Many POS products treat QR ordering as a paid add-on or route it through a third-party marketplace product, which means a second subscription and a second system to configure.
MinimalPOS handles orders, kitchen, billing and reporting in one flow.
